Brussels: Tennis world number two Kim Clijsters likely to miss the Grand Slam tennis tournament at next month's French Open after suffering an injury while attending a cousin's wedding.
The Belgian who went on to become a finalist twice in the French Open is currently sidelined for four weeks due to shoulder and wrist injuries they experienced.
"Kim suffered an ankle injury. He will not be able to compete for four to six weeks. Therefore, the possibility of him appearing at the French Open event can not be ascertained," said an official statement quoted by the official online page Clijsters, www.kimclijsters.be, Monday (11 / 4).
"In his cousin's wedding team, Kim suffered an ankle injury. The ankle is now could not be moved, and he certainly could not walk for several days," added the official statement. Grand Slam French Open will begin in the next six weeks.
