Staring at the race at Mugello, Marco Simoncelli hoping to atone for mistakes he had done throughout the season. Simoncelli said if he would try to stay calm and try to reach the podium at Mugello.
"My initial reaction after the incident at Assen is bitter and disappointed. I did a stupid, where should I be waiting to overtake. I made a mistake and really hurt me, as this involves Lorenzo until the fall," Simoncelli said as quoted by the official MotoGP website.
"I apologize to him more than myself because it was releasing a sizable opportunity. The incident was probably the biggest mistake I ever made throughout the season. Now I just want to stare at the Mugello race with peace and a new motivation," said Simoncelli.
Simoncelli recognize that many people expect a lot to him and he feels compelled to pay their beliefs with positive results achieved during the race at Mugello later.
"There will be lots of fans around the Mugello hills, and I do not want to disappoint them. I like the track at Mugello since become one of my favorite tracks. At Mugello I won my first race in 2008 while still in the 250 cc class, before finishing in a position second after a fierce battle in 2009, "he concluded.
