Fifa President Should be Fair

FIFA president Sepp Blatter criticized the European club association president, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, for not being good enough to lead FIFA.

Blatter is not considered an appropriate figure to lead the world football's supreme authority, but denied Rummenigge will hold a "breakaway league" of more than 200 European clubs outside the control of FIFA.

"FIFA president should be fair, serious, and democratic," said Rummenigge, who also served as director of Bayern Munich, told Sky Sports News.

"Mr Blatter re-elected for the period of the next four years and I wonder if he is fit to carry out the mandate it? I'm not sure."

"There are no signs. He has held this position since 1998, 13 years running, and I say normal if there are not sure of the last period of his leadership, if he is not fit for duty."

Rummenigge use the same opportunity to express the desire of European clubs association.

"My request is not to gain power, but urged the process of democratization and good leadership. I think it's only natural," he continued.

"I want to ask not only clubs, but also the league, referees, and the women footballers are included in decision-making."

"If Mr Blatter and his colleagues are ready for it, we can accept. Otherwise, we will attempt to convince him."

European Club Association is the body that comes from the G-14 group, which had spawned the idea of forming a European level competition, to include a number of top clubs, such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
